Many of our pieces are made to order by our small team in Wiltshire. If an item is not currently in stock, it will be crafted especially for you using our traditional production methods. We will contact you if your piece is made-to-order with a dispatch estimate. 

Each piece is individually handcrafted, making every piece unique. Slight variations in colour, size and detail are a natural part of the making process and reflect the character and craftsmanship behind every John Julian piece.

We offer a bespoke service to personalise our handcrafted tableware with crests, monograms or logos using traditional techniques. From family heirlooms to branded pieces for restaurants and hotels, each commission is made to order. We also offer hand-painted rim details and occasional artist collaborations. Caring for our planet and limiting our environmental impact is something that Julian is incredibly passionate about and we are always seeking ways to improve our practices.

John Julian is a member of the British Ceramic Confederation and Julian is a part of the Energy and Emissions Group which is working towards net zero emissions by 2050.

We consider our environmental impact at every turn.

We carefully consider our packaging to minimise environmental impact. Our recyclable cardboard boxes are packed with recycled shredded cardboard, biodegradable packing peanuts and recycled paper wherever possible. We also reuse plastic packaging materials when available, but never purchase new plastic for packing.

Dispatch of First pieces: approximately 5-7 working days provided your pieces are in stock

Dispatch of Seconds pieces (in our Seconds Sales): Please allow significantly longer (up to 4 weeks) for dispatch of Seconds orders placed in this period due to overwhelming demand. 
Each order is carefully hand-picked and packed with great attention to detail in our workshop, rather than being processed through a large warehouse or fulfillment centre.
We weave our Seconds dispatch around our normal workshop making and day-to-day business activities with our whole team pitching in to get your orders out as quickly as we can.
Micro heritage craft businesses operate on a much smaller scale and face different challenges than larger retail brands but this also allows us to focus on considered, small-batch craftsmanship.

We ship worldwide. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes or import fees, which are the responsibility of the customer. At John Julian we aim to dispatch your John Julian pieces as soon as we can. Provided your piece is in stock, please allow 5-7 working days for First pieces to be dispatched.

We will contact you if your piece is made-to-order with a dispatch estimate. 

Once your order has been dispatched we will send you a unique reference number so that you can track the progress of your order.

As each piece is made by hand there will sometimes be some slight variation in colour, detail and size, but we see this as part of their individual character and charm.

Of course, if you are unhappy with a product and wish to return it we will gladly process a full refund (excluding original postage unless the item is faulty). Please contact us in the first instance at info@johnjulian.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
