Opportunity for a Junior Potter

To work for a high end ceramics Manufacturer in Wiltshire, that produces functional table and serveware. 
Our small factory produces pieces using traditional techniques.
We currently need a Junior Potter for our small, friendly production team.

The role requires someone who is:
-        A good team worker.
-        Able to follow instruction.
-        Has good attention to detail.
-        Is happy and able to undertake physically demanding tasks.
-        Is able to work to directed timings and order of work.
-        Is able to follow existing designs and specifications. 

The content of the tasks that we need to cover is both varied and repetitive and covers a range of strenuous tasks and processes:
-        Work on the Jolley machine to produce tableware and serveware.
-        Fettle leather hard ware.
-        Wax and stamp pieces.
-        Throw and turn hand thrown pieces in both Porcelain and Stoneware clays.
-        Handle mug and jug bodies in both Porcelain and Stoneware clays.
-        Pack and Unpack gas kilns and assist with grading.
-        Spray and dip glaze.
-        Sanding finished pieces.
-        Cleaning of all areas of the workshop.
-        Assisting with packing of orders and stock requirements.
-        Assist with Health and Safety actions and logging.
-        Assisting with palleting orders and moving pallets
-        Help log and understand timings for tasks and discuss making and firing results to assist with successful results.
-        Helping move and count inventory – Firsts and Seconds.
-        Helping track tasks on the Workshop Ipad.
-        Assist generally within the Workshop. 

This role could be part or full time.

We would like someone to start as soon as possible with a starting salary in the region of £12.50 an hour but this can be discussed depending on experience and skill level.
The recruitment process is likely to include a trial shift for the final candidates.
